Oils For Facial Moisturizers:

  • Coconut Oil.  It is rich in fatty acids – lauric acid which also includes antibacterial or antimicrobial activities. Super hydrating especially for dry, sensitive, or dermatitis. Helps lock in moisture that may be lost.
  • Sweet Almond Oil. It reduces puffiness and under-eye circles.  Improves complexion and skin tone. Treats dry skin. Improves acne. Helps reverse sun damage.
  • Shea Butter.  Works great as an anti-inflammatory and moisturizer. Shea butter also contains linoleic acid which helps hydrate the skin and anti-aging.  It helps fight breakouts. …
  • Argan Oil.  Rich in antioxidants that help protect against environmental damage. High in fatty acids. Anti-inflammatory.  Can be used by all skin types as those with dry skin will benefit from its moisturizing properties, while those with oily skin may also find it tolerable as it is lightweight and won’t leave the skin feeling greasy.
  • Carrot Seed Oil. anti-aging effects. Combining skin-mending vitamin A, collagen-boosting vitamin C, and moisturizing vitamin E, this essential oil helps smooth lines and repair sun damage, scars, and any other skin trauma. Carrot Seed Oil stimulates circulation as well as brain and nerve functions. Essential Oils to add to Facial Moisturizer:

Lemongrass oil:  Helps with brightening and toning.  Also helps reduce acne. It has antiseptic and astringent properties. Keeps skin glowing while sterilizing the pores and strengthening the facial skin.

Lavender oil:  It has the ability to restore the complexion and reduce acne, all while soothing you.

Chamomile oil:  Promotes healthy skin with its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.  


1/2 cup Shea Butter

1 Tablespoon Argan Oil

1 Tablespoon Carrot Seed Oil

Essential Oils combination:  Lemongrass (5 drops), Lavender (10 drops), and Chamomile (5 drops)

  1. Pour argan oil and shea butter into a double boiler.  Allow the shea butter to melt and blend the two ingredients.
  2. Remove from heat and add the Carrot Seed Oil. Blend well.
  3. Add the essential oils and blend again.
  4. Store in a glass container.
